As Safety & Health officer, you have a pivotal role within Heliox. E-mobility is an exciting, fast-growing market: our chargers keep electric vehicles on the go (buses, trucks, planes, ferries, port carts, cars, mining equipment, etc.) Taking on this role will mean that you can make an immediate contribution to a more sustainable future, with cleaner air in urban life and lower global emissions as a result.

What you will do

In this role, you will be primarily responsible for the health and safety of our teams, both at the office, at home, at manufacturing locations, at customer sites, everywhere. You will compile safety programs and standardize them to remain consistent, as well as share best practice techniques amongst the different teams and departments.

To ensure success as a Safety officer it is important to stay updated with the latest trends in health and safety and to implement the practices into the workspaces continuously. Our safety officer will maintain compliance with all safety regulations and will ensure that every member of staff complies with the regulated standards.

You will be joining a friendly and growing team where you will make an impact and quickly see the results of your work. You will report to the Director SHEQ.


You will be presenting Safety & Health principles to staff in meetings or lecture-type training sessions. You will implement and maintain health and safety standards (guidelines according to ISO45001). And you will establish a cordial and professional relationship with employees.

  • Assessing risk and possible safety/health hazards of all aspects of operations
  • You participate in continuing education to update knowledge of health and safety protocols and techniques
  • You will do regular safety inspection/auditing of workplaces/lab, production, and customer sites.
  • You will check for unsafe and/or damaged equipment or tools
  • Investigate causes of accidents and other unsafe conditions on the job site (test lab, customer sites, etc)
  • You will determine whether the finished product is safe for customers
  • Auditing production, keeping on the lookout for any unsafe behaviour or breaks in regulations
  • Supervising Safety rounds


  • You will be compiling safety programs.
  • You will conduct a risk assessment
  • Reviewing existing policies and procedures
  • You can create analytical reports of safety data (incidents/accidents/near-misses)
  • You will follow and act to changes in legislation related to safety & health
  • You will be creating analytical reports of safety data
  • You can advise and closely cooperate with the Works Council
  • You keep the Health & Safety PDCA cycle going towards continuous improvement


You are a pro-active sparring partner to the Director SHEQ. You have a hands-on mentality with a healthy appetite to continuously improve the way of working and with an international mindset. Able to create an open culture where communication concerning health and safety can take place safely and pleasantly. You are very accurate in performing everyday tasks. You are flexible and creative when it comes to problem-solving. You are getting yourself prepared for a high-paced, ever-changing work environment.

(Work) experience

  • Bachelor's degree in (electrical) engineering, VCA-VOL certified
  • 4 years experience as a safety & health officer or similar role
  • ISO45001
  • NEN3140 / EN51110,
  • NFPA70 is a pré
  • Good comment of the Dutch and English language
  • German or French are pre
