Best, The Netherlands (21/09/2022) – Heliox, a global leader in DC charging systems for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles, announces the cooperation with PACCAR Parts to support the roll-out of PACCAR’s electric vehicles in Europe (DAF) and North America (Kenworth and Peterbilt).
In Europe, PACCAR offers mobile 40 kW chargers and stationary 150 kW to 360 kW high-power chargers to PACCAR customers and dealers. The stationary high-power chargers are ideal for customers who want to charge their trucks quickly during lunch breaks, to maximize the usability of their Electric DAF. The same stationary high-power chargers can be used for overnight charging of up to three trucks simultaneously at a lower charge speed. The PACCAR Charger program will be showcased at IAA Transportation in Hannover this year, where the range of PACCAR chargers will be exhibited at the DAF stand.
In North-America, Heliox will supply mobile 40 kW and 50 kW chargers to PACCAR’s dealers and customers. The mobile chargers are lightweight, transportable, and often use existing infrastructure, which is a convenient option for organisations that are entering the EV market. Each charger is backed by a one-year warranty with an option to extend for up to two years.
According to Dick Leek, General Manager PACCAR Parts Europe: “The truck market is at a turning point in embracing the future of electric driving. Heliox will work closely with DAF to meet their customers' charging needs, facilitating the transition of their fleet from diesel to electric transport.”
The electric truck market is expected to experience tremendous growth globally, creating a strong market for EV charger solutions in the coming years.
“This partnership has come at the perfect time as Heliox continues to expand its European operations for the e-truck market,” said Michael Colijn, CEO of Heliox. “We look forward to working with PACCAR by jointly supplying the PACCAR charging product offering, and helping their customers on their electrification journey by consistently offering great products, service and reliability.”
Ongoing interoperability testing with new medium- to heavy-duty vehicles ensure Heliox equipment is among the most consistent and reliable on the market. The chargers can be monitored and controlled using EV Service Provider software via cloud-based Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP).
The cooperation between PACCAR and Heliox can be seen at the DAF stand at IAA where a PACCAR charger will be displayed and on-screen videos will be showing their application.
